At every stage of career development, professional expertise remains an essential foundation for career success. However, as professionals enter critical stages of their careers, the ability to build personal influence and translate professional expertise into long-term career value becomes increasingly important.<\/p>\n

As a leading global professional accountancy organization, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)<\/strong> is committed to supporting the career development needs of its members at different stages of their professional journeys. ACCA members already possess strong technical expertise. As they take on greater responsibilities in management, collaboration, and decision-making, new challenges begin to emerge:<\/p>\n

\u2022 How can professionals with strong expertise make their capabilities visible and earn the trust of others?<\/p>\n

\u2022 How can they communicate their ideas with greater clarity and impact when working with colleagues across functions or with senior management?<\/p>\n

\u2022 As they enter a critical stage of career development, how can they build valuable professional relationships that support long-term growth?<\/p>\n

Based on an in-depth understanding of members’ career development needs, we worked with ACCA to develop the Professional Influence Advancement series of online seminars. Starting from member profiles and career development paths, the program focused on real-world workplace scenarios faced by professionals and translated prosessional influence into a set of practical, understandable, and transferable skill sets, helping members progress from professional expertise to professional influence.<\/p>\n

Customized Course Design Based on Members’<\/strong> Development Needs<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Taking into account the career stages and development characteristics of ACCA members, the program primarily targeted professionals between the ages of 28 and 35. At this stage, professionals are often navigating critical transitions, including promotions, career changes, and cross-functional collaboration. It is also a period when being recognized, trusted, and able to make their voices heard becomes increasingly important to career advancement.<\/p>\n

Rather than taking a broad approach to “soft skills training,” the program focused on three key questions that professionals commonly face at this stage:<\/p>\n

2. How to Communicate with Greater Impact<\/p>\n

3. How to Cultivate Professional Relationships that support long-term growth<\/p>\n

Based on these real-world career development needs, KOS Solutions designed three progressive sessions centered around practical workplace scenarios. The program helped professionals systematically strengthen their professional influence and long-term competitiveness, from building a compelling professional image and communicating with greater impact to developing and maintaining meaningful professional relationships.<\/p>\n

Session 1 | Building Credibility: Project a Clear and Compelling Professional Image<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Earlier in a career, professional expertise and work performance are often the most direct measures of success. As responsibilities grow, however, whether others trust your judgment and support your recommendations can significantly influence your access to new opportunities. How others perceive you, and what they are willing to trust you with, gradually become a defining factor in professional influence.<\/p>\n

The first session focused on credibility, helping members reassess their professional image, translate their expertise into a strong professional reputation that is visible, recognized, and trusted.<\/p>\n

Session 2 |<\/strong> High-Impact Communication: Take Control of Every Key Conversation<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In important presentations, cross-functional collaboration, and client conversations, effective communication depends on more than the content itself. First impressions, body language, communication style, and the way you carry yourself can all shape how others interpret and respond to your message.<\/p>\n

Drawing on real-world communication scenarios, the second session explored how first impressions are formed, the behavioral elements behind executive presence, and how to combine body language with verbal communication to communicate more effectively, thereby turning communication into a driving force for career development.<\/p>\n

Session 3 | Strategic Relationship Building: Create a Sustainable Professional Network<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The workplace is full of professionals with strong expertise. Yet as careers progress, individual career paths can increasingly diverge. What often sets professionals apart is not technical expertise alone, but the relationships they build and nurture over time.<\/p>\n

The third session explored how to identify key decision-makers and influencers at work, build trust, and maintain relationships over the long term. By introducing the “compounding effect” of professional relationships, the session helped members move beyond one-time connections toward lasting relationships and build a more valuable professional network for future career growth.<\/p>\n

From a Single Course to Continuous Growth<\/h4>\n

For professional development programs, the true value of learning lies in whether knowledge can be applied in real workplace situations and continuously translated into practical capabilities.<\/p>\n

Following the three sessions, we received feedback from participants on the course content, practicality, and instructor performance. Some participants described the sessions as “practical, relatable, and easy to understand,” noting that the concepts were not simply ideas to be forgotten after the session, but insights that could gradually influence the way they approached their work. Others specifically highlighted the matrix frameworks introduced during the sessions, saying that the frameworks resonated with their previous work experience and offered new ways to analyze and approach real-world challenges.<\/p>\n
