About The Client
Our client is a fast-growing financial institution headquartered in Hong Kong. They are now hiring an Assistant Legal Counsel to support with upcoming business growth plans.
About The Role
Reporting into the Chief Legal Officer, you will:
- Assist with a broad range of legal/regulatory issues and engagement
- Draft and review legal documents, commercial agreements, brokerage agreements and regulatory filings
- Provide legal/regulatory support to business teams on commercial partnerships and agreements, product launches, marketing campaigns
- Proactively identify legal problems, solutions and potential support to business teams
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in a rapidly changing legal/regulatory landscape for the financial services sector, and to provide strategic and forward-looking advice and foster compliance
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with minimum 5 years of PQE
- Experience gained from reputable international law firms and/or financial institutions in funds, asset management, investment banks, fintech will be a plus
- Possess solid technical legal expertise as well as sound business judgement and communications skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced organisation to manage complex projects and maintain close contact with relevant teams
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple matters to meet deadlines
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel to business teams
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Immediate available candidates highly regarded
