Our client is a well-established Group with diversified interests in property investment, property development, construction, property management etc. To cope with their business needs, they are inviting an Assistant Manager - BI and Data Warehouse to join their IT team in Hong Kong.
About the Role
Report to Enterprise Architecture Manager,
Role in Data Warehouse (DW):
- Responsible for the overall architecture, design, development, and maintenance of DW systems and services for the entire enterprise's business objectives and requirements
- Ensure the development of enterprise-wide standards for the DW to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms/in-house applications
- Interact with the business/application teams to produce reporting requirements
- Gather and assess the business information needs and preparing data integration requirements
- Perform analyses, development, and evaluation of data mining in a DW environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation
- Review and validates data loaded into the DW for accuracy. Propose and implement appropriate data analysis tools
- Responsible for prototyping solutions, preparing test scripts, and conducting tests and for data replication, extraction, transformation, loading, cleansing, and data modelling for DW
- Maintain documentation of software tools, designs, and scripts that effectively support the DW environment
Role in Business Intelligence (BI):
- Act as liaison between business units and IT leadership regarding the identification of business-critical information and knowledge, and its usage and availability
- Translate requirements into appropriate design, provide subject matter expertise regarding current BI platform and emerging technology
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, and business-facing dashboards, to drive critical business decisions
- Design, implement, and support platforms that provide business teams ad-hoc access to large datasets (e.g., data visualization for non-tech business teams)
- Build enterprise-wide standards for the BI dashboard with consistent look & view, together with selection criteria of BI platforms for the different use case
- Enable the teams in the enterprise with modernized BI skills
- Define an operational framework that, when define, develop and implement BI, where policies and security frameworks to ensure information delivered in a precise and secure way
- Monitor system performance, implement changes to optimize performance
- Maintain documentation of software tools, designs, and scripts that effectively support the BI operation
The Successful Applicant
- University degree in related disciplines
- 10 to 15 years working in the IT field, with at least 5 years+ hands-on experience implementing BI/DW using Oracle and SQL Server
- 2 years+ of experience in managing cross-function teams and multiple projects, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
- Experience with BI/DW in both cloud and on-premises is a plus
- Experience with Master Data Management is a plus
- Experience with Big Data/Data Lake is a plus
- Lead the research, evaluation, and selection of new technologies, with cost and feasibility studies
- Strong communication skills especially while dealing with diverse functional groups
- Sound analytical and creative mind, and be able to work under pressure
- Perform ad-hoc duties and other special projects assigned by the supervisor or senior management
- Able to learn quickly and adapt to new environments well
