A reputable foreign-based Bank is looking for a credit manager to join the team.
About The Role
- Assist RMs/Assistants and advising on feasibility of credit enquiries and advising front staff how transactions can fit the bank's risk parameters
- Undertaking initial credit analysis
- Liaising with Collateral Risk Management Team on irregularities
- Provide RMs and Assistants with credit documentation and verify proper execution of documentation upon return before documentation is sent on for processing
- Maintain a consistently high level of awareness about potential credit, regulatory or legal issues and work
- Review daily credit violation report, monitor margin call accounts as well as effectively managing such margin calls
- Conduct periodic credit reviews and portfolio reviews
- Liaise with RMs with a view to ensure a good quality of information provided for a credit request with respect to the background and goals of the transaction and the involved client(s)
- Support the Team Head to manage and organize the activities of the team - credit requests, credit reviews, credit documentation (issuance, verification, safe keeping), as well as certain management reporting and regulatory reporting duties
- Involve in and assist with ad-hoc projects, management and regulatory reports and credit initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in any disciplines, preferably in Law, Accounting, Finance and Business, at least 3 years of private banking or credit / lending experience
- Team player, able to clearly communicate and build rapport with the RMs and Assistants
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail, adaptability as well as problem-solving skills are essential
- Good knowledge of investment products, derivatives, collaterals and regulatory requirements
- Good organizational skills and ability to work independently within the given credit framework, taking ownership and responsibility as well as being a team player
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, knowledge of Avaloq is a valuable asset
- Good understanding of HKMA regulatory requirements
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
