Our client is a leading commercial banking; as part of the succession planning and business expansion strategy, they are currently looking for a seasoned Risk professional to join as their Deputy Head of Risk.
Reporting into the Head of Department, you will lead a sizeable team ensuring all risk management policies and guidelines are in compliance with regulatory requirements. You will lead the establishment, implementation, review and improvement of the risk governance and management framework; assist in overseeing overall credit risk management of the bank; assist in the formulation of the bank's risk appetite statement; direct the formulation of credit, operational, product and reputation risk management strategies and policies; oversee the development or risk assessment tools, methodologies, processes and procedures as appropriate to the different product units and business lines. You will act as one of the key contacts with regulatory bodies in relation to risk management matters. Ad hoc projects will be assigned to facilitate the development of the bank in view of balancing risk considerations.
To qualify, you will be degree educated with 15+ years' banking experience and with focus in credit and risk discipline. You will have a strong track record leading a sizeable team with solid understanding of banking operations and business acumen. In-depth technical knowledge in risk management, operational control and related regulations / supervisory guidelines will be required; and strong communications and negotiation skills will help excel in this role. Proficiency in Chinese will be required.
