Company Overview:
Our client is a leading manufacturer of home appliances, specializing in the design and development of innovative electrical products. The company is committed to driving business transformation and maintaining the position as an industry leader. This Head of Engineering will be based in Dongguan and lead a team of 50 engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement technical platforms and engineering strategies aligned with the company's direction.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing the entire product development lifecycle from research and development (R&D) to new product development (NPD), new product introduction (NPI), and mass production (MP) stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure successful product launches.
- Ensure strict adherence to industry compliance, maintenance programs, and international quality standards for product quality and safety.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives for products and processes, demonstrating a high level of cost sensitivity.
- Stay updated on industry technology trends and advancements to support new product development.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand and meet their requirements and needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in product design and development, with a focus on electrical appliances and consumer electronics.
- Strong knowledge of application and battery-powered devices.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as UL, IEC, and other relevant regulations.
- Knowledge of RF/IOT product development is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, both directly and indirectly, to achieve goals, manage projects and budgets, and drive continuous process improvement.
- Willingness to be stationed at the PRC Dongguan plant.
