About Our Client
Our client is a Chinese Corporate Bank in Hong Kong, with a wide array of financial products including corporate loans, trade finance and wealth. To cope with business strategy and transformation, they are now hiring a Head of Legal, targeting candidates with PQE 10+ and relevant experience in private practice and / or banking industry.

About The Role
As the Head of Legal, you will oversee all legal, regulatory and ethical matters. You will prepare and review all legal documents, commercial agreements and contracts for the business (both in English and Chinese), and advise on corporate banking products: corporate loans, trade finance, wealth and other financing matters. You will offer transactional and legal support to the Hong Kong business, and also offer legal advice on products and business development, and cross-border businesses. You will also liaise with regulators to ensure statutory and head office compliance standards are met. You will develop and maintain the internal Legal Risk Management policy, also build a professional work partnership with external legal counsels / retainers.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be be LLB qualified or above in any common law jurisdiction, with minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in private practice and/or in-house banking experience handling banking, corporate and commercial works. You will be a hands-on legal practitioner with strong communication and problem solving skills, also someone who can work independently with exceptional judgement and analytical skills. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese required for this role, and immediate available candidates highly regarded.
