Financial Risk Management - circa HK$80K
This role reports to the Head of Risk and Financial Risk Management. The responsibilities include reviewing, monitoring, and reporting on financial risks, including financial risk events and key risk indicators, as well as assisting 1st-line departments with financial risk self-assessment coordination. This involves providing independent reviews of assessments and monitoring the implementation of risk mitigation plans. Additionally, the role requires coordinating and preparing various professional analysis reports, offering independent opinions on financial risk-related initiatives such as product reinsurance, account receivable analysis, investment, and business planning. Reviewing the effectiveness of 1st-line internal controls in financial risk management and performing internal control testing is also essential. Regular preparation of risk reports to monitor the execution of the company's Risk Appetite and timely reporting of risk status to senior management and the Board is expected. The role also involves assisting in the maintenance and execution of risk management policies and promoting risk management and the 3-line defense culture within the company and its subsidiaries.
To be successful, candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at a senior level. They should have a good knowledge of financial risk management for a life insurance company, including product pricing and development, reinsurance, actuarial and investment-related regulatory requirements, and accounting standards (such as IFRS9/17, HKRBC). Professional experience in international insurance companies is preferred. A degree in actuarial science, statistics, accounting, or risk management, along with a professional qualification in actuarial or risk management, is required. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of working experience in actuarial, investment, asset liability management, capital management, or financial risk management. The ability to work and make decisions independently, strong communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills (in both Chinese and English), and the ability to influence at a senior level are essential. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
