Our client is a small hedge fund headquartered in Hong Kong. They are seeking to hire an experienced Legal & Compliance Lead.
About The Role
The opportunity is an extremely varied role and the remit will involve taking primary responsibility within the company for all legal & compliance matters. You will report to senior management and will be supported by the CFO and external counsel when necessary, but will be expected to work independently and take initiative as much as possible. The responsibilities will include drafting and reviewing legal investment documentation, subscription of new investors and liaising with external firms and stakeholders. You will also be expected to take on general compliance monitoring responsibilities.
Requirements
The client is particularly interested to hear from qualified legal candidates with experience working within a leading investment practice at a top-tier law firm, or having gained experience as a legal counsel in another investment manager. Candidates will ideally have compliance/regulatory experience, excellent communication skills (English and Chinese) and be able to liaise with shareholders as well as internal and external directors credibly. You will have excellent organisation skills and be able to work autonomously with little supervision. This opportunity will allow a committed and experienced investment funds lawyer to gain significant experience with an exciting, niche investment fund.
