About The Client
Our client is a sizeable local listed conglomerate with international presence. They are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join as part of the growing team.
About The Role
Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be a change-driver, and would assume the following resposibillities:
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Advise on legal/regulatory issues for designated business units
- Handle employee related issues
- Assist with corporate projects including M&A, capital markets transactions and also joint ventures
- Manage desputes with counterparts
- Develop policies and standards applicable for the business
- Mitigate legal and other business risks
- Liaise with external counsel and manage cost
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified lawyer with PQE 6+, preferably with experience acquired from reputable international law firms, alongside solid in-house commercial experience
- Good understanding of law and regulations across the region and ensure standards are met
- Proactive, innovative mindset and with strong analytical skils
- Exceptional communications and influencing skills liaising with stakeholders
- Strong priortisation and organisation skills with high quality deliverables
- Fluency in both English and Chinese required
