About The Client
Our client is a Professional Services Firm in Hong Kong. They are now hiring a Legal Director to join as part of the team, with a focus in handling Enforcement, Disciplinary and Regulatory matters.
About The Role
Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will manage all disciplinary cases, regulatory matters and projects within the remit of the Legal Department. You will:
- Prepare information for disciplinary and court proceedings, and attend disciplinary and court hearings as required,
- Develop and update reference materials and guidelines relating to regulatory matters,
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication to facilitate disciplinary proceedings,
- Manage departmental budgets, and handle queries as the legal consultant whilst supervising a lean team.
Requirements
To qualify, you will be a Law-degree holder, and a Hong Kong qualified solicitor or barrister with PQE 12+. You will have rich experience in dispute resolution including court litigation, regulatory or disciplinary proceedings. Prior experience working in statutory / professional bodies would be a definite advantage. You will come with strong legal research and drafting skills, also managerial and administrative abilities, alongside tactful interpersonal skills. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese required for this role, and immediately available candidates highly regarded.
