About The Client
Our client is a leading conglomerate with business operations spanning across property development, healthcare, retail and hospitality sector. As part of business strategy to expand into Greater Bay Area, they are now inviting an independent and capable Senior Legal Counsel to join as part of the team, and held responsible for Corporate Commercial matters.
About The Role
Report into the General Counsel, you will:
- Provide legal advice and support on corporate commercial matters across Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area, this would include contract review and negotiations, ensuring compliance standards, risk management and dispute resolution
- Assess business needs and identify potential legal risks, and advise senior management on pragmatic solutions as appropriate
- Work with external counsels and monitor project timeline
- Assist with departmental budget and forecasts
- Formulate training on legal topics for business stakeholders, on latest legal issues and developments within the business
Requirements
- Hong Kong qualified lawyer with PQE 10+
- Solid commercial experience from sizeable corporates, prior experience in PRC legal matters will be essential for this role to support with business growth
- High proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin an advantage)
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills liaising with all levels of staff within a multi-cultural work environment
- Ability to prioritise and multitask with high sense of responsibility and ownership over assigned tasks
- Good business acumen, able to look at big picture independently
