Job Description
Overview: Assist in supporting the approval process of incentive purchases, including quality, packaging, and sizing / spec approval. Communicates with multiple internal and external contacts on a routine basis. This person must possess a desire to learn, take direction well, strong communication and organization skills, and be a team player. Travel may be required.
Job Responsibilities:
Communication
- Collaborates with Sr Technical Specialist, Product Development Team (PD) & Buyers to develop a full implementation of product, quality, value, and design
- Communication and follow up of samples to vendors - approvals, rejections, and due dates
- Understands decision making is participatory and uses experience and other's knowledge to make informed decisions
- Establishes, regular and effective communication channels with the PD, Merchant team as well as Vendor community - Communicates recommendations and approvals to PD Buyers, Vendors and MM's when necessary
Merchandise
- Able to work independently and with Sr Technical Specialist, PD and Buyers in the review process of fit, quality of samples and values
- Follow up on action on quality, fit and value issues - take action as needed
- Participate in product educational classes, workshops, and webinars
- Manage all necessary tasks and duties in the absence of Sr Technical Specialist
- Become knowledgeable of all CPSC, CPSIA, FTC, FDA, State and Corporate/Global regulations, policies and procedures, ensure all regulations are followed
- Market travel as necessary
- Responsibilities include their own department/family of Apparel business
Administrative
- Maintains production tracking spreadsheets. Process and organize daily receipt of samples - document styles received back to tracking spreadsheet
- General office duties including but not limited to filing, purging old files, purging old samples, donations to charities, organizing samples
- Special projects as assigned or directed based off business need.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Technical Knowledge of Apparel about Fit, Fabrication, Specification details
- At least 3-4 years Merchandising, and/or Technical Design
- Proficient in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) softwares
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong organization skills and follow through skills PC skills including Excel and Microsoft Word Works well in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple projects Good eye for color, design and fit detail
- Ability to reset priorities as necessary
