About the Client

Our client is a fast growing innovative company with an expanding portfolios of technology solutions business in China. As part of the company's aggressive expansion plan in this fast growing industry, a need has arisen to recruit an IT Engineering Director or Product Director to drive their new mobile app initiative.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO and managing a big team, you will be responsible for driving a sustainable technology approach centred on the creation of an in-house mobile first platform, capable of supporting the business as its customer pipeline grows. Working alongside with the IT and product team you and your team will be responsible for an end-to-end technology strategy and deliver a best-in-class scalable platform capable of supporting their business growth globally. In addition, you will need to embed an agile development methodology, drive the roadmap and release schedule and ensure the timely and efficient delivery and iteration of both the web and mobile platform. You will also understand opportunities through data, user research, competitor analysis running experiments and interactions with the business. Lastly, you will define the overall technology strategy and budget, leading the architecture and delivery of an in-house, scalable m-commerce while working closely with the digital marketing team.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 12 years of experience with an university degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with successful deployment of large scale web or mobile products in an agile product development environment
  • Ability to direct a team and negotiate and influence stakeholders within the team and externally in the broader organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences including those at the executive leadership level
  • A good understanding of the potential technologies and approaches and UI/UX patterns required to make them a success
  • You have a commercial and an experience of increasing engagement and conversion on mobile platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and developing technical professionals
  • Advanced Engineering skills with wide-ranging experience; able to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Good command in English and Chinese
  • Must be able to travel to China frequently
