About The Client
Our client is a well-funded R&D business with a promising and aggressive business expansion plan. They are currently hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to support with general commercial matters, alongside other projects such as cross-border M&A, IPOs, intellectual property rights, litigation etc. Target candidates with PQE 8+, preferably trained from international law firm with prior in-house legal work experience from Energy/Utilities sector.
About The Role
Report into the General Counsel, you will:
- Draft and review variety of commercial contracts and agreements
- Advise business leaders on legal related matters
- Ensure compliance standards including the formulation and enhancement of internal policies and regulations
- Support and take part in ad hoc projects, business and corporate initiatives
- Liaise with external counsels as required
- Work and liaise with internal and external stakeholders e.g. shareholders, boardmembers, investors etc
- Handle corporate secretarial matters including drafting meeting notes, resolutions, minutes and arranging AGM meetings
Requirements
To qualify, you will be/have:
- An LLB/ Law degree holder in common law jurisdiction
- PQE 8+, ideally trained at an international lawfirm with in-house legal work experience (candidates with pure private experience in energy/ utilities sector may also be considered)
- Solid exposure in commercial law; additional transactional work exposure in cross-border M&As, IPOs, Intellectual Property, Litigation will be an advantage
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin a plus)
- Entrepreneurial and growth mindset with prior experience working within startups / progressive businesses settings will help excel in this role
- Willingness to travel
