About The Client
Our client is a statutory body within the infrastructure space. They are currently hiring a Department Head for their Legal & Compliance division. Candidates with PQE 20+ gained from both public and commercial companies (within Construction / Engineering sector) will be ideal.

About The Role
Reporting into the Executive Director, you will take lead the Legal & Compliance function, and be accountable for the following:

- Held responsible for all legal and compliance matters; advise and support the business on its operations and projects including but no limited to the drafting, review and negotiation of contracts, business and legal documents
- Review, update and draft policies and guidelines in accordance with regulatory standards
- Advise on any disputes, litigation, and other contentious matters as appropriate, and recommend solutions and/or act as the legal representative to mitigate legal risks associated with the corporation
- Conduct legal research, analyse and advise senior management on updates and trainings required for the development of the business
- Liaise with external counsels and ensure quality deliverables and cost-effective legal services are obtained
- Carry out ad hoc projects and duties as assigned

Requirements
- A recognised Hong Kong law degree or any major common law jurisdiction, and/or PCLL in Hong Kong
- PQE 20+, ideally with a mix of experience gained from both public sector and commercial settings (construction / engineering / infrastructure sector preferred)
- Solid experience handling dispute resolution and litigation matters
- Strong sense of integrity, detail mind, commercial sense with sound judgement balancing risk and control
- Proven leadership skills managing a team, ability to build a cohesive work relationship with senior business leaders
- Results-driven, hands-on, pragmatic, with a strong solutions-centric work approach
- Ability to multitask and handling people dynamics within a mixed population group
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese required
