About The Client
Our client is a leading conglomerate business with operations spanning across high-end property development, hospitality, retail, shopping malls etc. As part of succession planning, they are hiring an HR Director for China (based in Hong Kong), responsible for managing and leading the HR team that provides comprehensive strategic and also operational HR support to their growing portfolio of Greater China.

About The Role
Reporting into the Executive HR Director, this is a critical role for the Hong Kong leadership team. As the HR Director for China, You will shape and implement HR strategies that will address and enable the key China business imperatives. You will lead a large HR team that is geographically spread, cutting across Business HR and CoEs in Performance & Rewards, Talent Acquisition, HR operations, Learning and People Development. You will also be responsible to upskill the team through active coaching, development, collaboration and role modelling.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will be/have:

- A Bachelor degree or above in Human Resources or relevant discipline, with at least 20+ years of all-round HR management experience working for sizeable corporates, ideally property-related businesses
- In-depth understanding of the Greater China landscape, prior experience stationing in China familiar with its culture and matrix will be a definite advantage
- Executive presence who can build trust and credibility with executive leaders quickly, ability to influence actions and growth, exquisitely manage multiple stakeholders to drive sustainable solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills handling difficult conversations and convincing people in simple tactful ways
- Strong business acumen, build clear understanding of company strategy and operations, assess internal and external ecosystem and dynamics and its impact on business strategies and HR priorities
- Experience managing a sizeable team remotely, know when and how to provide constructive feedback, team effectiveness interventions and getting the right leaders in place for a high performing leadership team
