About The Client
Our client is an industry leader investing into the BioTechnology space. They are now hiring a Senior Legal Counsel (IP specialisation) as an addition to the Legal & Business Affairs team.
About The Role
Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be a seasoned IP specialist in the Chemical / Energy field:
- Held responsible for full IP matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets
- Implement and ensure a comprehensive IP strategy is in place aligning with business objectives, also identify business opportunities for innovation and protection
- Manage the end to end IP registration and maintenance processes, liaising with external parties involved, and handle related actions and administrative processes as required
- Monitor and enforce IP rights across the business; identifying and addressing potential risks and take legal actions as appropriate
- Review and negotiate IP-related documents e.g. licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, JV agreements, R&D agreements etc
- Support with other general corporate matters including reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements, whereby ensuring compliance standards
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with PQE 10+ (admitted in HK / commonwealth jurisdictions)
- Prior IP experience gained from international law firms or in-house MNC environment (candidates with relevant experience gained from pure law firms will also be considered)
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field will be an advantage
- Familiar with chemical or energy sector will help excel in this role
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
- Travel will be required for this role
- Open for this role to be based in Hong Kong or Singapore
