Job Summary:


My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the team. This is a newly created role based in global procurement office in Hong Kong. As an individual contributor, you will play a crucial role in managing the group's Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) suppliers across the globe. The primary focus of this role is to drive procurement transformation, implement strategic sourcing initiatives, and lead change in a traditional workplace setting. The successful candidate will possess exceptional strategic thinking skills, a deep understanding of sourcing methodologies, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Transformation:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement transformation strategy to drive efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digitalization within the procurement function.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement procurement best practices and standardize processes across the organization.
  2. Strategic Sourcing:

    • Lead the development and execution of global sourcing strategies for OEM suppliers, focusing on cost optimization, quality improvement, and risk mitigation.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, leveraging those relationships to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement.
  3. Change Management:

    • Drive change initiatives within a traditional workplace environment, overcoming resistance and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
    • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure buy-in and alignment with strategic sourcing objectives.
    • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance procurement capabilities and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  4. Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, quality assurance, and operations, to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, addressing any issues or concerns, and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
    • Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize value and minimize risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement transformation and strategic sourcing, preferably in a global manufacturing or consumer goods organization.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing methodologies, negotiation techniques, and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence stakeholders in a traditional workplace setting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English and Cantonese both written and verbal. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
