Job Description

Our client is a leading international sourcing and supply chain management company. It specializes in providing comprehensive solutions to our clients in the areas of procurement, merchandising, and logistics. The firm is currently expanding its operations to include a newly established business line of food for a major UK account. To support this growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Merchandising Manager to join the team.

Position Overview:


As the Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the merchandising operations of our newly established food business line. Your primary focus will be on confectionery and packaged food products for a major UK account. You will work closely with the Managing Director to develop and implement strategies to meet the client's requirements and drive business growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards in the UK and EU.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop and execute the merchandising strategy for the food business line, aligning with the client's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end merchandising process, including product selection, sourcing, pricing, and procurement, ensuring timely delivery to the client.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, pricing strategies, and competitive landscape to drive product assortment and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and availability of products.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations in the UK and EU, working closely with suppliers, quality assurance teams, and relevant authorities to maintain high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, finance, and marketing, to ensure seamless operations and achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in the food industry, with a strong understanding of confectionery and canned /packaged food products.
  • Proven track record in managing merchandising operations and driving business growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations in the UK and EU, with experience in ensuring compliance.
  • Good command of English and Mandarin
