Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join its dynamic team. As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in the procurement department, focusing on general goods and services procurement. Reporting to the Procurement Manager and working closely with a team of 6, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient sourcing, negotiation, and management of suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Oversee the entire procurement process, including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management for general goods and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a robust supplier database.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on supplier selection and contract terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular performance reviews, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Contract Management:
- Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while minimizing risks.
- Monitor contract compliance and manage contract renewals, extensions, and terminations as required.
- Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall procurement performance.
- Implement best practices and innovative approaches to drive cost savings, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging procurement practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven 5 experience as a procurement officer or similar role, preferably in a large organization.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Stable work history with a track record of professional growth and commitment to excellence.
