About our Client

Our client is a leading global fashion retailer with strong business presence across US, Asia and Europe. The brand is renowned for its fabric innovation, fine quality, styling and exceptional value of its products. Due to an aggressive business expansion plan in the region, the team is looking for a Fabric Manager to drive the research & development function in the regional sourcing hub in Hong Kong.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a small team to perform research and recognize fabric trend every season for the newness, bestseller and market intelligence. As a functional business leader, you will work with technique team and follow up on fabric performance, voice out the potential issues such as physical performance, fabric defects and work out with design and technique team to set up standard. You will also handle handlooms and or trial weaves on some new qualities to ensure fabric texture, physical performance and hand feel are in desire effect and up to company's standard.

Requirements

  • Degree in Textile Engineering or related discipline with at least 8 years working experience in garment fabric/accessories field with supervisory experience
  • Experience working for a textile mill in a technical capacity
  • Substantial knowledge and solid experience in new material development and process improvement
  • Keen eye for fabric trends and a passion for fabric technology
  • Good command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
