About our client:
Our client is a global fashion retailer with a highly successful business around the globe. Due to business expansion in the region, there is a newly created role - Product Development Director in its regional sourcing hub based in Hong Kong.
About your role:
- Rationalization of the processes for the collection development at the headquarter in New York, coordinating regional platforms in Asia, in relation to company calendar timings
- Implementation of a structured and comprehensive quality management system to certify the quality of the finished product to the consumer
- Define vendor strategy and management; as well as material sourcing management.
- New factory/mill evaluation and on boarding.
- Continuously strive to improve communications internally and with suppliers and other external parties to develop and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation, confidence and trust, and to facilitate the shipping and delivery of sourced products by way of following up on orders and otherwise.
- Review staff development (productivity, performance, set career path)
- Delivery, Claim & Short Shipment review ongoing base
- Periodically review existing key vendor performance (review KPI via season basis)
- Establish the timeline and seasonal calendar with head-quarter PD team
- Design the design process for the brand and monitor, implement and control the whole process in order to achieve the company's plan.
- Commit to creative product design and cost control. Based on the design aspect, carefully consider the cost of production.
Requirement:
- Minimum of 20 years in apparel sourcing and supply chain, project & change management and leadership training.
- Strong business acumen with proven track record in general management, brand & business development.
- Able to develop and maintain commercial relationship with corporate and regional teams from multi-cultural backgrounds.
- Customer and result orientated, strong problem solving skills.
- Experience working with premium brands, master and degree holder preferred.
- Ability to analyze and recommend business and organizational needs; manage long term to daily workloads with the team.
- Fluent in English is required.
