With annual turnover of more than US$20 million, our client is a leading retail chain store in the hypermarket sector. Due to rapid business expansion, they are now seeking for a Purchasing Manager to join the team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager based in Hong Kong, you will conceptualise product ideas, source and launch new food ranges including ongoing improvements of existing products for the brand. You will also perform competitive market analysis with the objective of identifying new product opportunities. In addition, you will maximize sales, margins and profitability by performing supplier liaison, price negotiation, innovating packaging, cost management and marketing. As functional team head, you will coordinate with design and QA, ensuring that design and QA-regulatory guidelines are complied.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or other related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experiences in sourcing of food products and prior experience in retail industry is highly preferred
- Sound understanding in product development and category management metric and techniques
- Strong negotiation skills with good analytical mind and business planning abilities
- Independent, good interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
- Open to travel to factories/business units in the region
- Good command on both written and spoken English
