The team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sourcing Specialist with a strong background in sweater manufacturing and product development. As a Sourcing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and selecting sweater suppliers to support sourcing needs. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the knitwear and sweater manufacturing process, including product development, sourcing strategies, and quality control.
Responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential sweater suppliers based on quality, capacity, cost, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and define sourcing needs, ensuring alignment with product specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their capabilities, production capacities, and compliance with ethical and environmental standards.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, ensuring optimal cost savings while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Manage the entire product development process, from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery of samples, prototypes, and finished goods.
- Work closely with suppliers to provide technical guidance and support in product development, resolving any manufacturing or quality issues that may arise.
- Monitor and track supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality performance, and compliance with agreed-upon service levels.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in the sweater manufacturing sector to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies that drive innovation, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, fashion design, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in sourcing and product development within the sweater manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of the knitwear and sweater product development process, including materials, construction techniques, and quality control standards.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with global sourcing practices and supplier management.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to derive insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of ethical and environmental standards within the fashion industry.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Chinese.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
