Data Engineer

Summary:
As a Data Engineer at our client company, you will be a key contributor in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of the data pipelines and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines using ETL processes on the Azure cloud platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into effective data models and solutions.
- Develop and maintain data schemas, ensuring data quality, integrity, and documentation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing workflows, identifying bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies and trends, proposing improvements to existing systems.
- Work closely with the data science and analytics teams to facilitate data-driven insights and decision-making.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree hold in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Proficient in Python, including frameworks like Spark and pandas.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.
- Experience working with Azure data services and SQL.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in machine learning or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of Azure technologies like Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Serverless, Databricks' Unity Catalog, and Lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
