About The Client
Our client is a sizeable listed company within the TMT sector. They are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced lawyer to join them as the Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs. You will manage the legal department, provide legal advisory services to the various business units, and ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks. Responsibilities would also include ensuring compliance with appropriate statutory and regulatory provisions, and management of stakeholders relationships.
About The Role
- Provide advisory services on issues that relate to legal and regulatory requirements and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies
- Manage relationships with external solicitors and ensure compliance with agreed service levels
- Manage all corporate affairs and communications on behalf of the organization
- Draft, negotiate, administer, interpret and advise on agreements, letters, forms and other legal documents related to the organization as required
- Participate in the articulation of the organization's strategic goals and objectives
- Review and authorize all expenditure/transactions of the legal department in line with the approved departmental budget and organizational policy
- Provide all guidance, leadership support and strategic direction in the execution of the legal department duties
- Keep abreast of best practices, changes in regulation, amendment of enabling laws and advice the organization accordingly
Requirements
- Minimum of a 1st degree in Law, an LLM in Commercial law will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 12 years post qualified experience, with experience in TMT sector ideal
- In-depth knowledge of international and local business and commercial law
- Experience in handling regulatory affairs and legal matters in the TMT sector will be an added advantage
- Prior involvement in complex transactions is desirable
- Proficiency in English and Chinese required (Mandarin a plus)
