Job Description

My client is a leading global consumer goods company, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join the team as the Head of Procurement. As the Head of Procurement, you will play a critical role in managing procurement function, driving operational excellence, and contributing to the company's overall success. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and execute procurement strategies, optimize supplier relationships, and deliver cost-effective solutions that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies:

    • Formulate and execute procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency in the procurement process.
    • Stay abreast of market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance procurement effectiveness.
  2. Supplier management and relationship building:

    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier audits.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier quality, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
  3. Strategic sourcing and contract management:

    • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and select key suppliers.
    • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
    • Monitor contract compliance and manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
  4. Risk management and compliance:

    • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Implement and maintain effective systems and controls for procurement processes.
  5. Team leadership and development:

    • Manage and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Set clear objectives, provide mentorship, and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in procurement and strategic sourcing, preferably in a multinational or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, best practices, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound understanding of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
