About The Client
Our client is a Biotechnology company with global presence. They are now inviting a Corporate Counsel who can be successful within their ethical and collaborative culture to join as part of their management team.
About The Role
Report into the business COO, you will be an experienced Counsel with a solid background ideally in healthcare and life sciences. As a primary Counsel for commercial law matters, you will draft and negotiate customer and distributor contracts, consult on legal questions, training and other assigned matters. You will also advise on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters affecting the sale of the company's products and services, as well as collaborating on issues with the regulatory, quality, and compliance functions, also managing the business' intellectual property, coroporate finance and transactional projects. In this role, you will serve as a strategic business partner to the businesses by providing clear legal advice and practical business-focused solutions enabling achievement of their objectives while appropriately managing risk and protecting the business' integrity and reputation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a Law degree holder from an accredited law school, with 20+ years minimum experience in, or advising, healthcare/biotechnology/medical/life sciences businesses. You will demonstrate the ability to diagnose commercial and legal problems and present positive, creative solutions and alternatives. You will also have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and an effective negotiation style, alongside the ability to work independently, appropriately prioritise workload, meet deadlines and follow through on matters handled. Candidates with short notice will be highly regarded.
